Today I went to this great museum in Lausanne, Switzerland. The Musee de design et d'arts appliques contemporains is a young and vibrant place. The temporary exhibition is called Nature en Kit and is about nature today and how it is perceived, experienced and mimicked. Check it out if you are ever in the area.

{Food} Swiss army chocolate knife
I always travel with my Swiss army knife. This version of it would be used even more often. The classic swiss army knife and chocolate are Switzerland most famous exports and someone had the great idea to combine the two into a single product. You can find it here.
{Design} Leftover spoon
Fabulous 'Leftover spoons' designed by Mara Skujeniece for 'De Bakkerswinkel, Amsterdam'.
The special 'leftover spoons' are unique pieces and only 12 euros per spoon.

{Design} Time
Most minimal digital clock ever by Kibardin Designs. Only the necessary. Each figure has self-contained power supply and independent control, it can be fixed to any surface autonomously. A light sensor will switch the clock to an invert mode: the figures are white in the dark time of day and black at daytime.
{Design} Memo clock by The Haki
I love this Memo Clock by The Haki. A quick reminder in the morning, and a place to jot last-minute reminders just before bed! Then wipe it clean for a fresh start. Great eco friendly idea to stop wasting paper.

{Design} Rhinoceros tile by Vadim Kibardin
I love this idea of a tile with a hook by Vadim Kibardin. The rhino horn sits centrally on a white 150x150mm white tile. I'm afraid it is not yet on the market.

Eco Font
I love this exercise in economy by Matt Robinson and Tom Wrigglesworth. They chose a selection of the most commonly used typefaces and compared them for how economical they are with the amount of ink which they use at the same point size. Large scale renditions of the typefaces were drawn out with ballpoint pens, allowing the remaining ink levels to display the ink efficiency of each typeface.

{Design} Alphabet chest by Kent & London
I love this Alphabet chest of drawers by Kent and London. It is inspired by vintage printing blocks and made of solid oak. I saw it on a few blogs, but it;s even better in real life. The shop has a showroom in Whitstable and I saw it while on a day out there.
