{Design} A dotted notebook for architects by A:LOG

Get sketching.
Three architecture students from Columbia University have developed a notebook specially designed with architects in mind. The notebook has 130 pages of ready to be drawn on pages with lightly dotted grids  at 4 different scales 1:200, 1:100, 1:50 & 1:25. It is the only notebook with all 4 scales. It also exists in metric and imperial editions.

{Design} Lost in sofa by Daisuke Motogi Architecture

Things always get lost in sofas. Because they fall out of your pockets, or just because they have somehow fallen into the cracks of your sofa. Sometimes they resurface and sometimes they are never to be found again.
Tokyo-based architect Daisuke Motogi Architecture emphasised this trait of a sofa in this playful utility armchair design. The multitude of cracks are purposefully used for storage, items can be shelved between cushions.

Check out this gorgeous series by Federico Babina, the illustrator that gets inspiration from architecture and design to create fabulous graphics. In this project, Archiportrait, Babina created a representation of 33 architects and designers, "in which the faces and the expressions are made of their architecture.”

{Design} Timor Perpetual calendar by Danese

I love this Classic 20th century design desk calendar inspired by railway signs. Timor was designed by Enzo Mari in 1967 and has been in production by Danese ever since. A clever design combining great style and ease of use, and is included in museum collections around the world.

I am only just discovering the amazing things that can be achieved with 3D printing in the realm of design. What a wonderful tool!
So for all you map lovers and chocolate lovers. Check out this gorgeous and delicate 3D Printed Chocolate version of Tokyo by Naoko Tone and Atsuyoshi Iijima. It was all part of an exhibition about chocolate at the 21_21 Design Sight space in Tokyo some time ago.

{Sports} Perfect Formula 1 pit stop by Ferrari crew

I love a well coordinated team! And this Ferrari Formula One crew are rehearsing their pitstop choreography to perfection! They are all amazingly calm and precise under pressure. Crazy impressive!

It all reminds me of when my husband [ then boyfriend ] and I met, we used to watch entire seasons of Formula One with our good old friend C. I can not believe the commitment on our part: all the qualifications and races. There was no btvision or tevo then. We had so much time on our hands!

Bunk beds are a fantastic way of saving space and avoiding the bedtime argument of who switches the light off and when. Each child has some privacy as well as control over their sleep.
Since our 2 years old and 8 years old share a bedroom, we decided to tackle the sleeping arrangements last weekend.

{Graphics} Six Architects | Posters by Andrea Gallo

I love these 6 minimal architectural graphics by Andrea Gallo. Aren't they beautiful and simple, yet so evocative? His crisp black and white graphics simplify and recreate the work of some of modern architecture’s most famed structures — from Frank Lloyd Wright’s Guggenheim Museum to Louis Kahn’s National Assembly Building in Bangladesh.
