{Kids} House chair by Paloma's nest

Check out this cute kids chair that also works as a doll's house, by Etsy shop owner Paloma's nest. It comes in 3 different designs: colonial, victorian and modern house, but my favourite has to be the colonial style one. Love it!

{Art} Poem paintings by Jamie Poole

I love this work by poem painter Jamie Poole, a lovely mixture of portraiture, typography and collage. What a wonderful idea to deconstruct printed poems into individual words and using the text to create large scale portraits.
The final pieces are quite large, and allow for amazing detail in both line and shadow. You can see more images of Jamie’s work on his Blog.

{Design} Life's Journey measuring stick by Baum Kuchen

I knew as soon as we moved into our home, 6 years ago, that I wanted to track my daughter's growth on a doorframe. But since I am not 100% positive we will live under this roof forever, I looked for a wall mounted growth charts.
I love Baum-kuchen's new product, the life's journey measuring stick. A simple, blank measuring stick where you can record the special milestones in your child's life. You can keep it hung on your wall and can take it with you when you move. I also love the philosophy behind their brand and hope to see more elegant products from them.

{Kids} Easiest DIY dollhouse

My daughter Ines (7) loves playing with her little figurines. So I thought that with her help we could build this easy homemade dollhouse by El hada de papel
There I found the easiest DIY tutorial for a homemade dollhouse yet. Use stiff cardboard to cut out 2 pieces as shown and slot together. As decoration, you can paint the cardboard or cover it in paper. Go with the templates provided or create additional cutouts to add detail. I love this idea because you can also adapt it to be the correct size for your dolls.

{Design} Japanese aluminium pegs

I subscribe to the thought that you can never have too many desk accessories, especially when it comes to clips. They come in so handy for so many tasks... They regularly move around the house and even come on holiday with me!
II used to love them before having kids, but children brought a whole new array of uses: sealing food bags, clipping blanket to buggy, craft organising, camping...

I love the classic wooden peg - maybe you can remember my previous post - but I have recently been introduced to these Japanese Aluminium pegs by my friend V. These Metal clips have a gorgeous anonymous design and have 100s of uses. They are the direct competition for the humble bulldog clip. Although I love those too...

You can find them at Labour and Wait £8.50 for 24 pieces.
